Good afternoon, folks! After multiple weeks filled by nothing but raven-talk and depression, we will be tackling a different text!
As agreed beforehand, we will have our meeting this coming week again, Thursday as always, the 8th of May. It should be happening in the project's room once more, god willing!
We will be studying a new next: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, by Harlan Ellison. The text is a sci-fi prose about the last surviving humans, who are kept alive after the end of the world by the rogue AI who did it only to be continuously tortured by it. It should be a much easier read than our last text, but it will go into a detailed description of some severe topics including extreme violence, depression, death, and sex. This is a horror story with strong language and stronger scenes. If anyone feels uncomfortable while reading it, please bring it up to me so that we can avoid those topics during our discussion and for future text selections.
Once it is a bit longer than our usual texts, the plan is to divide it between two weeks. This week we will be covering the first 8 pages of the story.
I am also asking *everyone here* to suggest some songs for us to listen to as our listening media for the next two weeks, either openly here on the chat or in private with me. Let us try to have one selected by Sunday night at the latest!
